Fall classes begin the week of August 23, 2021, and end the week of May 23, 2022
The Preparing for Pre-Algebra course focuses on building a strong foundation in preparation for a Pre-Algebra course. The first half of the course will practice basic facts and skills. This includes whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. The second half will introduce integers, expressions, one-step and two-step equations, and one-step and two-step inequalities. We recommend this course for grades 5 who are ready to explore these topics or for the 6th grader who wants an extra year to prepare for our Pre-Algebra program.
The prerequisite for this course is the completion of 4th-grade math and a happy young person ready to explore math discovering their own potential for middle and high school level courses.
This course is suitable for grades 5-6 for students needing the extra edge to prepare for Pre-Algebra. The online curriculum includes video-based instruction (Mac and PC compatible), coursework for each section of each chapter, chapter tests, semester exams, and a comprehensive solutions manual. Also included is an online grade book, email access to the Mr. D Math teaching staff and enrollment in the Mr. D Math virtual learning center.
“Since I’ve begun Mr. D math, I no longer dread my daily math homework. I love having a live class to go to, where I can ask Mr. D any questions I might have about the week’s coursework. It’s also helpful to have the extra online videos to watch if I have trouble with the coursework. Now I’m even able to explain difficult algebra problems to my classmates at my Classical Conversations community! Mr. D’s curriculum has helped me understand math so much better and I’m so grateful!”
